Welcome to Winglion Quilts

Posted in About

Winglion is the home of the Community Quilt Project where we stitch together loving thoughts of friends for those facing illness or other hardship, and of Pootie Pads, small quilts filled with organic herbs to pamper your pet with soothing scents.  We celebrate the connection of people to each other and with the four-legged creatures with whom we share our homes.  At Winglion, there is love and warmth in every quilt we make.

Daily Kos Interview by Meteor Blades

A week from now, Sara R will pass a milestone: five years at Daily Kos. In that time, she’s proved to be a powerful community builder in a way that is almost shaman-like. Her quilts–both the signature-quilt fund-raisers she has stitched together for Netroots Nation and the spectacular “love catchers” she’s made for 30 (now 39) members of the DK family in need of healing–are tangible expressions of community connection that transcend our workaday political world.

Community Quilt Project Mission Statement

Posted in About The Community Quilt Project

The Community Quilt Project’s mission is to bring people together in a positive way, to give comfort where we can, and to provide willing quilters with the means to do good works. Unlike like the sewing bees of old where neighbors came together to quilt in friendship, we are working in a digital age where physical distance does not matter.

We are taking friendship quilting to a new level, connecting people with needle and thread.
